Dr. Steven Brightwell is a Certified Invisalign Preferred Provider
Invisalign clear aligner orthodontic treatment can give you the beautiful, straight smile you've always wanted — without braces. A consultation with Dr. Brightwell can determine if Invisalign clear aligners are right for you.
What is it?
Invisalign are clear removable aligners that gradually straighten teeth. Dr. Brightwell uses Invisalign to treat crowding, spacing, overbite, and overjet conditions.
Invisalign uses 3D computer technology to map the treatment from beginning to end. Based on this plan, a series of aligners is custom made by Invisalign and sent to Dr. Brightwell to administer. Each set of aligners is worn for one to two weeks, and they gradually move the teeth before being replaced by the next aligner. This process continues until the final positioning of the teeth is achieved.
Invisalign aligners are clear and removable, so most people will not be aware that you are wearing them. The aligners can be removed for eating, so there are no food restrictions. You also remove them for teeth brushing and flossing, so it is easier to maintain healthy oral hygiene.
How does it work?
One important factor for Invisalign to work is the patient has to be diligent about wearing the aligners at all times, except to eat.
Each patient will be given three sets of aligners each time they visit our Prairie Village dental office. Each aligner is worn for 1-2 weeks before replacing it with the next aligner set. We request that all of our patients visit our office every six weeks so Dr. Brightwell can check your progress.
When it comes to clear aligner treatment, patient compliance is key to a successful outcome. The length of the treatment will depend on the amount of tooth movement necessary and your compliance with wearing your aligners at least 22 hours per day.
