Veneers are thin, porcelain facings that are bonded to the front of your teeth. They can be used if you are unhappy with the color, shape, or position of your front teeth.
Dr. Brightwell offers two types of veneers: e.max® Lithium Disilicate and e.max® Esthetic, both of which retain the translucency of your natural teeth, as well as long-lasting durability and strength.
A thorough, comprehensive exam with Dr. Brighwell is the first step to determining if you are a good candidate for veneers. Many factors will determine whether or not you may be qualified for veneers, including the state of your existing teeth, bite, gum health, and your end desires and expectations.
If you and Dr. Brightwell decide that veneers are the right choice for your smile, the process is very simple. The first appointment involves minor tooth preparations, followed by a dental impression. At a second follow-up dental appointment, the veneers are bonded to the front teeth.
With proper maintenance, veneers can last 20 years or longer. This includes avoiding tooth-staining foods and beverages (coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco), brushing and flossing every day, and scheduling professional cleanings and exams at our Prairie Village dental office.
